At Schweitzer Law Partners, we continue the practice of putting the safety of our clients at the forefront of our priorities. Although the virus and its dramatic impact is unexpected, our commitment providing our clients with an unprecedented level of excellence remains unchanged.
Our office is working tirelessly to ensure that the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are limited on our cases. Consequently, we are able to deal with the Coronavirus head on by implementing virtual remote access to all of our attorneys and much of our staff. Several forms of safe communication such as e-mail, telephone calls and video conferencing are available to our clients through multiple different platforms to ensure access. We understand that having a direct and safe pipeline to our office is vital for our clients, especially during the current situation.
In response to the pandemic, the Presiding Judge for the Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Los Angeles recently issued an Administrative Order. All courthouses will be closed to the public from Tuesday, March 17, 2020 to Thursday, March 19, 2020. Further, from Friday, March 20, 2020 until Thursday, April 16, 2020, all courtrooms will remain closed for judicial business, except for certain time-sensitive and essential hearings, such as restraining orders, emergency ex-parte proceedings, contempt proceedings involving custody, international kidnapping cases and criminal hearings.
All other hearings are continued for at least 30 days. We expect to receive further notice from the Court with specific dates and times of continued matters. Please keep in mind that this order may be amended as circumstances require, ultimately resulting in delays for more than 30 days. As always, The Schweitzer Law Partners will continue to keep our clients updated.
Our office remains open and accessible and we may be reached by telephone or e-mail. Each staff member has the ability to access our network, even from remote locations, and can timely address your concerns. Thus far, there is no notification that anyone in our office or building is infected with the virus and we are continuing to monitor the health of our employees while progressing with client needs and deadlines.
Stay calm, safe and secure throughout this crisis and rest assured that we are available to you, should you need us.
